One person. Both sides of the work.
Design and engineering under one name — and still here after launch.
Why AURA
Most companies spend years building exceptional products, strong teams and meaningful businesses. Yet their digital presence often tells a smaller story. That gap costs trust, perceived value and opportunities. My work is to align what people see with what you’ve actually built.

- From presence
I’m Andrew Mncube — a software engineer and tech lead in Johannesburg. AURA is my studio, and it’s just me.
Most studios split the work. A designer makes it look right, a developer makes it work, and someone else is meant to look after it afterwards. Things get lost in every one of those handovers.
I do all three. I design the site, engineer the system behind it, and stay on to run it — so the person you explained your business to is the person who builds it.
The name comes from presence: the impression a business leaves before anyone has spoken to it. My mission is to help ambitious companies build a digital presence that finally matches the quality of what they’ve built.
How I make decisions.
Minimal
Only what is necessary. Restraint is the visible result of invisible decisions.
Intentional
Every detail must serve perception — spacing, type, load speed, the state of a form after you press send.
Timeless
Avoid trend dependency. The site should still feel right when this year's patterns have moved on.
Editorial
Typography and spacing drive hierarchy, the way a good publication leads the eye.
Atmospheric
Immersive without being loud. Motion supports the atmosphere; it never overpowers it.
